I finally was able to get a resolution to this issue after several escalations, today on. I decided to open a support ticket with Microsoft on. As expected the Office 2007 printed perfectly but the Office 2010 clearly showed the discolored box around the transparent image/logo every time I printed. I then installed Office 2007 on one laptop and Office 2010 on the other.

I installed Windows 7 on both machines using the same CD, Installed the same print driver for the copier directly on the machine and pointed it via IP address (to eliminate our print servers as a possible issue).
So I decided to build two clean laptops to try and simulate this issue. Pro friends to test this transparency issue on the color printers they had at their office's, nobody else could duplicate the issue. I was able to duplicate the issue not only on the Canon ImageRunner Advanced 7055/7065 copier but also on a Lexmark C782, Xerox Phaser 8400, HP Officejet 4200/4215 as well as several others. Next I decided to start testing some other printers.

So I made sure I had the most current drivers available from Canon but the issue still persisted. The first thing I suspected was a driver issue. However if you then printed that PDF to the copier it would replicate the same issue.

The interesting thing is that if you looked at the slide on the screen or printed it to a PDF file it would look correct. That is the whole reason you used a transparent image in the first place to hide the border so that you did not have to have a big white box on a colored PowerPoint background. What you would notice is the border of the transparent image would show around the image in a distorted variation of the slide background color when we used a solid color background for our slides. The issue was that the graphics would print but did not print properly. Once we started printing from Microsoft PowerPoint 2010 we started having problems printing PowerPoint's that contained transparent graphics such as transparent. At the end of 2011 we did a hardware refresh and went to Microsoft Office 2010. When we first purchased the machine we were running Microsoft Office 2003 and Microsoft Office 2007. At our office we use a Canon ImageRunner Advanced 7055/7065 copier to print PowerPoint booklets.
